Spanish Village Art Center in Balboa Park
Located at the north side of Balboa Park, the Spanish Village Art Center (map location 3) is a haven for artists and art-lovers. Here, you will find 250 artists housed in 39 rustic cottages. These include painters, sculptors, pottery throwers, wood carvers, jewelry designers, stained glass artists, basket weavers, metal smiths and more.
 | The Art Center is designed with a central courtyard and surrounding cottages: it mirrors the old time Spanish Villages and is aptly named. |
The cottages are Studios where artists do their work. You can take classes, buy artwork, browse, and get to know some of the local artists of San Diego. Exhibits, shows, and demonstrations keep the Art Center vibrant while bright colors and desert plants make the place beautiful. This Art Center in Balboa Park is a pleasant place to visit even if you are not an art aficionado. | |
