Most of the sites are drive-by with no entry into the establishment but you will be able to enter San Diego's oldest graveyard. At each location, you will disembark the "Ghost Bus" and walk up close to the site. Staff members, in costume, will recite the history behind each site: who lived there, who died there and who's still haunting the place.

Price is $35. Tour departs from the Best Western Hacienda in Old Town (4041 Harney S; corner of Harney and San Juan St). Tours operate every night; show times vary depending on season and demand. Maximum of 14 patrons per tour.

Actors in creepy costumes will come up to you and corner you; or they will chase you down with a chain saw; sometimes they creep up behind you and speak in tongues. Scary-looking clowns, creepy-looking dolls, decrepit old people... Combine that with dark corridors, strobe lightening, and moving floors... This attraction is sure to scare. Of course... there's always a few folks who are too cool to be scared. That's all right, they can enjoy themselves watching others be scared silly.

On busy nights, there are 2 lines: one line to buy the ticket and a second line to get into the Haunted Hotel. You enter as groups of about 12 people. It takes 10 to 15 minutes to walk through the Haunted Hotel, so take your time and enjoy the scare. Be wary of people coming behind you, shoving you aside so that they can run pass you screaming in fear.

If a walk in the spooky, dark woods with people jumping at you is not enough,... you can pay an extra $5 and get into the "Carnival of Carnage". This is a 3500 square feet, walk-through maze dotted with freaks - (last year was clowns, but this year they've moved up to freaks in general!) Lit with black-light and crazed characters at every corner, this place is a house of terrors for anyone who doesn't like being cornered. Oh yeah, did I mention that it was a maze? Good luck!

Takes about 20 to 30 minutes to walk through the trial. Not for kids under 10. Pregnant women, people with heart conditions not recommended. Best to arrive early or go on Thursday instead of Fri/Sat. Wear warm clothing and comfortable shoes. Since you are walking outdoors in the dark, be sure to wear good shoes which you don't mind getting muddy. Go in groups of 4 or less. Large groups tend to be less scared because the people in front of the pack sees it all first. No photos allowed while in the trail.

The Haunted Hayride: sit in a tractor-pulled hay-wagon and brace yourself. The route is pepper with ghosts, zombies, monsters and characters who will stalk you. Don't get off because they'll get you!

The House of Horror: walk through this house where each room is filled with blood-curdling sights and sounds. This attraction is probably the scariest and many people simply cannot get through the entire house - they escape before the end. Not recommended for children, pregnant women, and the faint of heart.

The Chamber of Chills: is more like the haunted House you might remember from the old days: spinning tunnels which you have to walk through, witches cackling, paths that lead to dead ends and so forth.

Fast Track: Get front-of-the-line privileges by purchasing an additional $10.00 Fast Track for the House, or a $10.00 Fast Track for the Hayride. The Fast Track is an additional cost to the attraction admission price.
