Pepper Grove Playground
at Balboa Park

If you are already visiting Balboa Park you will find the Pepper Grove Playground a great place for children to run and play. Even if you are at home wondering what to do with the kids, this large playground might be exactly what you are looking for.

Here, you will find picnic tables (some painted in funky colors). Choose to at the open, grassy area, or choose to sit under a canopy of trees. Parking and bathrooms are nearby (see map).

You will find the swing sets and jungle gym structures. As with other playgrounds the ground is covered with soft material: either wood chips, rubber padding, or sand.

The "sandbox" area has fun characters which children can climb upon. Caution: the sand can be quite hot during the summer months.

Located along Park Blvd, this playground is between Centro Cultural de la Raza and the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center (map location 11 and 30).
