The Edgewater Grill in Seaport Village is one of the nicer, classier restaurants in the area. This place is well decorated, has a pleasant service staff, and offers good, fresh food. It is a little pricey, but not terribly so given it's location and ambiance.
The Edgewater Grill is located in the West Plaza of Seaport Village (#57 of map). It is situated right beside the San Diego Bay and so offers waterfront dining. The indoor tables beside the large windows are quite pleasant since they offer a good view of the Bay without the wind and elements.
The decor is quite nice: spacious with high ceiling. Wood flooring and wooden tables offer a warm glow. Unique sea-scape murals line the upper sections of the walls.
Most seating is in the form of tables and chairs, though there is a full-bar and you may also sit there if you prefer a lighter fare.
Maximum capacity of 150 people. Though, some sections of the dining room can be blocked off for semi-private functions or for a smaller, cozier space.
Despite all this, this restaurant is remarkably kid friendly offering kid's menu and space for kids to stretch their legs. Establishment is nicely decorated during the winter holiday season making it a fun place for kids and adults alike.
Service is good and friendly: refined but not pretentious.
This Grill offers seafood, steak, pasta, and pizza. Full bar which includes a solid selection of wines, beers, cocktails, mixed drinks and spirits. For the coffee lover, there's also cappuccinos, lattes, and espressos. Kids menu available.
Portions are not huge but are sufficient. Seafood is cooked to perfection: fresh with great taste.
Prices range from about $15 (fish tacos) to $35 (Filet Mignon) per entree. Kids meal are $7 to $8.
All in all this is one of the nicer restaurants in this area of town. After a day touring Seaport village, it is a treat to go to a fine restaurant with a good atmosphere and friendly staff. It is a little pricey compared to the other restaurants at Seaport Village, but the food is good and you're also paying for the "casual elegance" ambiance.
