Spices Thai Cafe
Spices Thai Café is a pretty good Thai restaurant consistently serving up delicious food in a pleasant atmosphere. There are 4 locations, the photos from this review are from the Mira Mesa branch.
The Food You can choose from “not-spicy” up to “very-spicy”. Regardless of the level of spiciness you choose, the food remains flavorful - subtle yet distinct. Appetizers include classics such as spring rolls, dumplings, satay chicken, and more. Soups and salads available (these are Thai style, not your regular garden variety.) White and brown rice available for those who are health conscience.
Entrees start from $10 (vegetarian, chicken or pork) up to $15 (scallops or fish). No beef - but there is duck. Hot Pots, fish boat, and sizzling platters are also available and add to the dining experience. No kids menu - but the staff can recommend kid-friendly dishes to enjoy. Crayons and coloring page available upon request - not to mention - funky, kid-approved, paper plates. | Party Trays available for take out.

The Establishment
Decor: This branch of Spices Thai Café has indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is small but pleasant with a central water fountain and umbrellas overhead to protect against the sun. Indoor seating is modern: a choice of tables-and-chairs or booth-style seating. Interior decor is contemporary with some Thai artifacts. Bathrooms are clean and very acceptable. Service: Service has always been good: courteous and helpful staff. Food comes at a reasonable rate: a little bit slow, but not terribly so, plus the food is good so it’s worth the wait. Overall impression: I highly recommend this Thai restaurant for consistently good food at a reasonable price in a pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant is located in a strip mall, so parking is easy and plentiful. What more can you ask for?
